Georgia Wines
|
All
over the world winemakers share a common bond. Passion for the
grape, the pursuit of excellence, and the satisfaction of making
such an enjoyable product from mother nature's belly is almost
uniform within Walla Walla, Washington, or Chablis, France,
even the North Island of New Zealand. This same spirit prevails
in Georgia, and these pioneers are investing sweat, capital,
and utilizing leading vinicultural techniques in hopes of producing
world-class wines. This is not your grandfather's muscadine.
Come with us as we take you on a road-trip we took earlier this
Spring to North Georgia.

Since
we started our Raffle, we have been offering unique wines as
well as performance stemware from Riedel. However, thanks to
Scott Engel of Artistic Designs,
the Raffle is getting a face lift. For the June/July Raffle,
we are showcasing a bold new style of French Wine art. These
limited edition prints are created from hand-made copper engravings
forming a metal plate. The foils used in the embossing are from
wine capsules (the metal foils that seal the top of the bottle).
These are great collectors items, and have only recently been
licensed for the US. |
| Our
special print for the Raffle is entitled, Puligny Montrachet,
after the famous village in Burgundy responsible for Grand Cru
and Premier Cru vineyards. You have a chance of winning this
unframed, $100 limited edition production. And Artistic
Designs can help you frame it! Enter

| Last
week we went out West to visit family in Seattle. Would you
believe we ditched the kids and took a day trip to some private
wineries? On the Pacific side of the Cascades, the lush, fragile
eco-climate harbors some incredible foilage which squeezed in
between ocean and moutain has made this one of man's most beautiful
spots on earth. However, on the eastern side of the Cascade
Mtn.s is a dry, arid climate with rocky, clay soil just perfect
for struggling grape wines. Welcome to Washington wine growing
country. We'll share our stops with you next time. |

Taste
for Theatre Wrap-Up
7
Stages Theatre, with organization from ALT PR and CWW,
held its first Annual Wine and Art Sale on Friday, May 30th.
The few hundred attendees were treated to a candle-lit evening
amidst the gardens at Cator Woolford, unique wines provided
by Candler Park Market, and 120 silent auction items. Feedback
from people was excellent, 7 Stages raised almost $6,000 and
Candler Park Market secured wine sale orders just shy of 20
cases. 7 Stages is already thinking about next year's event! |
