Last
month the Mondavi Corporation, specifically Woodbridge, brought
in ten wine educators to kick off a consumer-education program,
of which Lisa and I represented Atlanta. The timing coincides
with not only the billion dollar Mondavi restructuring, but
more importantly, the importance of the "lifestyle brand"
to those trying to survive in this business.

Earlier
today I was at a tasting, cutting my way through waves of Sauvignon
Blanc. Each one greeted me with juicy-cool green grass notes until...I
tasted one 10 degrees warmer than the rest. It completely changed
my wine experience, and not for the better. Read up on some
sage, practical advice from Dr. Spasser on dealing with temperature.

A
Wine Movie? Yes.
Sideways
"...starts with two old friends setting off on
a wine-tasting road trip . . . only to veer dizzily SIDEWAYS
into a wry, comedic exploration of the crazy vicissitudes
of love and friendship, the damnable persistence of loneliness
and dreams and the enduring war between Pinot and Cabernet."
So
Ms/Mr. Reader...do you read these little amusing newsletters
that fill up your inbox once per month? We'll see. The first
15 people to email
me will receive two tickets to the private screening of
Sideways
this Thursday night--with complimentary wine tasting to follow.
Not bad, eh?
And
while I'm spraying you with freebies, the first 15 people
to sign-up for one of the three Atlanta Wine School courses
(listed below) will receive a $10 Sideways branded corkscrew,
and a post opening pass to see the movie. |
Monthly
Tasting Sheet
I know, this is sort of an awkward place to put it, but I ran
out of room! If you want to know what wine goes with Halloween
candy, try an Italian Brachetto--I did that tonight actually.
But if you want to tackle Thanksgiving, here is one
writer's opinion. And if you want to see my Winner's &
Losers, here they are!
